Shaun Banks

Founder, I AM Defense Institute

Shaun Banks, enduring exposure to domestic violence, homelessness, gang violence, and self-doubt, transformed these struggles into a global mission for youth empowerment. Shaun is an expert in the field with over 20 years of experience, focusing on self-confidence and self-efficacy. He is also a published author of three personal development books. In honor of loved ones impacted by domestic violence, Shaun founded the “I AM Defense Institute” to promote personal development systems in local youth. His dedication grew into Camp Warrior King, a summer camp with multiple locations that offers extracurricular activities. Recognizing the global need for support, he started “You Can Have It All!” Youth Conferences, the “You Can Have It All Kids!” Magazine, and the “You Can Have IT All!” Orphanage in Bombo, Uganda, supporting over 30 children with essentials and education. Shaun is also the creator of “The Success Stacks,” a game that empowers children to achieve their dreams and fight self-defeating thoughts. He further developed the Team HoTT SAWCE cartoon brand to instill these principles in younger children. Shaun believes personal development skills are crucial for children worldwide, stating, “What I teach saved my life and allowed me to affect others positively. If my story inspires families around the globe to go after their dreams despite their circumstances, then it was worth the pain I endured. When the dream is big enough, the facts don’t count.”

Lilian Goddijn brings more than 20 years of HR experience. She brings expertise in talent management and leadership consulting to drive analytics‑based HR strategies that improve employee experience and scalable solutions. Lilian served as an HR Advisor at Chevron Corporation, a multinational energy company, where she held roles of increasing responsibility from 2011 to 2025. She holds a Master of Science in Organizational Development from the University of San Francisco and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from CSU East Bay. Beyond her corporate career, Lilian mentors youth through the Girl Scouts of America, underscoring her dedication to empowering girls to lead, grow, and contribute positively to their communities.

Crista Haar has 20 years of teaching experience in Developmental Psychology of Children, Culinary Arts, and Life Skills in secondary education. She served as the coordinator for Breaking Down the Walls and Link Crew, and received the PTSA Honorary Service Award and SRVEA's “Making a Positive Change” Award. Crista has three decades of volunteer and paid ministry experience, and as an advocate for Foster the City, she leads and trains support friends to come alongside foster families to meet their needs. She holds a bachelor's degree in Consumer & Family Studies and a Master's in Divinity. She and her husband have three children, two of whom are adopted, and all of whom have her heart.
